WordPress 台南小聚主辦 – 藝庭
來了一定會有收穫！有些東西，當你會了，好像很「沒什麼」……很多的「眉角」，說破就不值錢，但是，不知道的就是不知道！解決問題的的辦法也許都不難，事先打好預防針，避免傷害，才不會到最後發現已經太晚了。參加小聚就是交流這些「眉角」！
成為主辦的原因
其實是意外開始的！因為當時的主揪並不是我，只是主揪本人似乎有其他安排，所以遇到了中途喊停的情形…但文章也發了，問卷也給大家填了，如果就這樣讓活動變成句點，是很可惜的一件事！於是從協辦變成主辦，一直到現在了。
對很多小聚主辦來說，場地是很頭痛的事，不過你們一開始就有場地了，聊聊與這個空間誕生的緣份吧！
好想工作室是一個共同工作空間。當時在 WordPress 社團發佈要在台南開第一場小聚的消息，好想工作室的創辦人 Howard 就主動跳出來說可以提供場地！在這部分我們是很幸運地在一開始就得到支援。好想工作室除了提供工作環境以外，也有一些培訓課程，是一個互相交流學習的平台，也由於這樣的經營理念，因此對 WordPress 的開源精神相當支持！不過雖然地點就在火車旁邊而已，實際位置並不是很好找，所以當時還特地拍了一個路線影片告訴大家：就在這裡！
目前舉辦小聚長達了半年以上，最大的困難是什麼？
擔心沒有人！因為相較北部，南部的線下交流風氣沒有那麼盛行，之前有一場，只出現三個人，就一路聊到底了…當然人數小一點單純簡單一點，距離也近一些， 但也擔心人少會有個問題，就是來的人如果程度上有很大的落差，不管是接觸時間，還是本身技術上的專業度——有時並不容易找到互相討論的夥伴。當然交流還是能學到東西，只是水平線不一樣的話，對話上就多一些難度了，這是我覺得有點可惜的。希望大家能盡量的參與。
說說意外的收穫吧！
最近找到了新的工作機會！雖然這麼說，一開始也沒想太多。WordPress 是一個資源很多的平台，有時交流著，機會就這樣出現了！有些知識、資源，雖然你當下不見得用得到，但先聽過，收在心裡，就會成為無形的資產。
和阿竣 (三創小聚主辦人) 聊到這個觀念——去做一件事時，也許並不一定要去設定一個「為了得到╳ ╳ ，所以我去做○ ○ 」的公式，因為這裡是很多元的，只專注在一個方向，會讓你錯失其他的東西。其實有些人就會想來尋找一些問題的答案，一旦問題解決，就不會再出現了。當然，我們觀迎各式各樣的人，只是少了一點深入交流的機會，就有點可惜。光是每次吸收到一點新東西、小小的進步，就可以幫自己省了很多麻煩，少踩點地雷！WordPress 是好工具，但要仔細好注意的事太多了！
你一個人同時開了台南小聚平日與假日場！為什麼想做這樣的嘗試呢？
主要是希望能讓不同的族群加入，目前的小聚是辦在假日為主，但是一定有一些人，就是無法參加假日的活動，比如服務業——我們休假，就是他們要工作的時候，始終無法加入我們。所以為了讓不同族群、行業的 WordPress 使用者也能有交流的機會，這個月首度嘗試安排了平日的小聚。
結果非常成功！

然後，WordPress 很好，但是入坑前要想清楚呢！因為這個坑很大，而且跳進來就回不去了，會發現要學的東西越來越多！
現在網路上速成課程很多，很多網站資源或教學文章會去傳達一個訊息是：WordPress 很簡單！幾天、甚至幾小時就可以弄出個東西！事實上是，要做出基本的架構的確不難， 但要加些自己的東西，就要花很大的心力下去，何況決定要自己架網站的人，鐵定有很多自己的想法！WordPress 就是一條漫長不斷的學習之路，歡迎大家的加入！

If you came to WordPress meetup, you must take something away! Once you got the knack of dealing some of the problems, you would think they are nothing. However, for someone who encountered the same problem and didn’t know how to solve it, it’s a difficulty. The way to solving the problem is not hard, if you get asking others. The meetup is born for communicating these WordPress knacks and experiences!
Why did you start organizing Tainan meetup?
It was an accident for being the Tainan meetup organizer! Originally there was someone who volunteered to be the organizer. But he was otherwise engaged. I felt it would be a shame if the meetup was called off. As a result, I became the Tainan meetup organizer since then.
What’s the difficulty in hosting Tainan meetup for past half-year?
I was worried about that there was no one came to meetup Tainan! Compared to Taipei meetup, the offline WordPress discussion was not that prevailing in Tainan. Took one of the Tainan meetups I’ve hosted as example, there were only three people joining the meetup. During the meetup, we chatted and shared experiences with each other. Of course, the advantage of small group learning was that people were more easily to get familiar with each other. However, the disadvantage would be that If the participants’ background and skill levels vary widely, it would be difficult to communicate with each other. If so, it would be a shame for joining the meetup. I encouraged everyone to become active participants for meetup Tainan.
Conclusion
First of all, I was really grateful for Good Ideas Studio supporting the meetup venue!
Secondly, WordPress was a useful tool, but I would suggest anyone who started using WordPress to think carefully. Because it’s a quite profound knowledge and you would find that learning WordPress was an endless journey.
There were many online courses told you that WordPress was easy to use! You only needed several days or even hours to build a WordPress website. Actually, it’s not difficult to create the basic template. However, if you wanted to customize the template, it took time and skills. But who didn’t want to customize the template if he or she chose to build the website? If you were using WordPress, you needed to keep learning through your lives. We welcome everyone to join us!
