Youngest of 4. I was raised and grew up in the southernmost countryside of the Philippines. I have fondness in traveling, climbing, night camp and almost anything outdoors. It was back in 2013 when I took the leap and traveled to Thailand alone, embracing the backpacking and nomad lifestyle briefly. Been to several foreign countries, both for work, WordPress and personal excursions.
In my spare time or after work, I spend time watching anime shows and foreign movies, sometimes playing mobile games. I used to have Gameboy Color and secretly wanting to own a Nintendo console.
If I wasn’t making things with WordPress as a career, I may be a photographer by then.
How and why did you first start using WordPress?
It was my aunt who introduced me to the world of WordPress back in 2008. I remember I was so impressed with her website design and I enjoyed reading her blog. Then, It got me hooked up into blogging as well, and spent a lot of time customizing my website. When I was in my senior year in college, I led our capstone project that took inspiration from WordPress. It was around that time when I began to take enormous interest in the CMS and the underlying language, PHP. Before I knew it, I started tinkering with JavaScript and database management as well.

What’s been your best experience with WordPress?
My best experience with WordPress is apparently the WordCamp. I’ve never seen a community as diverse, welcoming and inclusive as in the WordCamp, and the WordPress community in general. It’s amazing how the people that made this program possible come together, mostly offering their extra time and effort to come up with an event that allows people to connect and make them realize that they ‘belong’ to a community. I speak to people especially those who feel like they are alone in their WordPress journey, because it doesn’t have to be that case. I encourage everyone to invite their friends or spread the word about WordCamp and WordPress meetups.
